My Little Twirler

Americettes is something Ive been looking forward to getting Gracie into since she was born. When she turned 4 I thought ok NOW she is ready to try this and like I thought she loved it!!

Americettes has been an awesome experience for us:) At first I thought it was going to take up most of the weekends in the summer but it didn't. She had practice every Wednesday night for a half hour. At first i thought ...how is this enough time to learn routines?...but to my surprise Gracie learned her whole routine. Actually she has 3 routines that she knows. Holly, the director is such a caring..awesome person who really loves to do this. She has 6 childern of her own so to invest so much time and effort into this is amazing..can we say "SuperMom!"

A couple weeks ago was the Talent Show/Pictures/Awards Banquet which pretty much lasted all day and by 8:30pm my little turkey was pooped (see picture with her awards..lol) But it was an awesome day full of excitement for the girls. I was very proud to see Gracie walk on stage to get her awards, she was so proud of herself..and so was I :)

Here are my favorite pics from this baton season...Enjoy!

Just a Sunday afternoon stroll...

Gracie begged me all morning to go for a walk...even if it was chilly...even if it was semi-muddy...and I gave in :)

New Beginnings....

Wow. It has been a looooooooong time since Ive blogged and Im totally gonna blame it on my wedding, lol. For the last 9 months my world/life/thoughts have been on overload with wedding planning. I can honestly say I don't wanna shop for anything that has to do with a wedding for a loooong time!!

Shane and I have been together for 9 yrs so this wedding was something that all of our family have been looking forward to for a long time. Ever since I had Gracie 4 yrs ago the urge to get married has been stronger than ever. One thing that bothered me, and this may sound stupid, is that Gracie and I didnt have the same last name. To say that that bothered me is an understatement, I hated it.

Our wedding day wasnt just important to Shane and I...it was also an important day for Gracie, her mommy and daddy were coming together to be married. Even thought she doesn't really know what all this means....she feels the love and importance of it all.

Here are some of our favorite pics from our wedding :)

Toddler Talk Thursday

How do you handle toddler temper tantrums??

I was always worried about the "terrible twos". When Gracie was 2 she was an angel...a saint. I had no problems with tantrums or fits or anything like that.

Then she turned 3.
Holy crap on a cracker~~!!

This has definetly been the most challenging year so far. She definetly has a mind of her own and knows what she wants and when she wants it and if you don't do it to her liking BAM!!!! total meltdown. Yes. Gracie is the only child so she does get alot of attention from me and Shane, and when she doesn't get our undivided attention...the screaming begins. Everyone keeps telling me that when she turns 4 it will get much better. i hope their right.

:Punishment:
We are definetly not against spanking. And if she gets totally out of control a spanking is definetly in order. Now most of the time we stand her in the corner for being bad and when that doesn't work I start taking away her favorite toys or taking away watching a favorite movie. I hate punishing Gracie but it is necessary. i usually have Shane do alot of the punishment because..well..lets face it...daughters listen to their fathers (I always did)
If we did not punish Gracie she would be a Grade A Spoiled Rotten Brat!
